Meet Our Team

Jennifer McCabe Lentz, MD
Dr. Lentz believes the foundation of excellent healthcare is a strong doctor–patient relationship. She partners closely with her patients, taking the time to listen, understand their story, and work together toward lasting health. Rather than practicing reactive, rushed medicine, her approach is proactive, personalized, and focused on helping patients feel well now while building health for decades to come.
Over the years, Dr. Lentz’s practice has evolved from managing disease to preventing and reversing it whenever possible. Her clinical focus centers on longevity, strength, and vitality — helping patients move from “not well” to a longer, stronger health span. She emphasizes root-cause care through evidence-based lifestyle strategies, including nutrition, muscle building, sleep optimization, stress management, and hormone balance, with the goal of reducing or eliminating unnecessary medications.
Dr. Lentz graduated from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2001 and completed the Fort Collins Family Medicine Residency in 2004, earning board certification in Family Medicine. After serving a rural community in Washington, she returned home to Northern Colorado and, in 2018, opened Direct Family Care of Northern Colorado after stepping away from the traditional insurance-based healthcare system.
Board certified in Obesity Medicine since 2016, Dr. Lentz has long championed therapeutic carbohydrate restriction, protein prioritization, and intermittent fasting as effective tools for improving metabolic health. Her commitment to this approach is both professional and personal — she and her family live the lifestyle she teaches.
Dr. Lentz’s approach to medicine is also shaped by her Christian faith and a deep commitment to service and education. She views medicine as a calling rooted in compassion, humility, and stewardship, and she is passionate about serving both patients and the next generation of physicians. Through ongoing mission and service work — locally and internationally — as well as her desire to continue teaching and mentoring medical students, she seeks to model a form of medicine that is thoughtful, relational, and grounded in purpose.
In addition to her metabolic health work, Dr. Lentz offers hormone optimization and InMode aesthetic services, aligning with her belief that health is about more than avoiding illness. Her mission is to help patients look, feel, and function their best — inside and out — through thoughtful, individualized care delivered without the barriers of traditional medicine.
Stephane Rainsong, PA-C
Stephane Rainsong believes excellent healthcare begins with time, curiosity, and genuine partnership. She is deeply committed to meeting patients where they are — within the context of their families, responsibilities, values, and real lives. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, Stephane focuses on helping patients understand what’s happening in their bodies so they can make informed, sustainable choices that align with their personal definition of health and wellbeing.
Stephane was drawn to Direct Family Care because of its shared commitment to thoughtful, relationship-based medicine. She values the space this model creates to listen carefully, think critically, and explain clearly — recognizing that meaningful care happens when patients feel heard, informed, and supported. Her approach reflects the clinic’s broader philosophy: prioritizing long-term health and whole-person care over rushed conclusions or isolated lab values.
Central to Stephane’s practice is the belief that “normal” is not always the same as “optimal.” She practices medicine that is responsive to evolving research and attentive to nuance, helping patients navigate complex physiology with clarity and context. She particularly enjoys demystifying medical concepts and collaborating closely with patients to create care plans that are both evidence-based and realistic.
Stephane earned her bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from the University of Colorado Boulder and completed her Master of Medical Science through Yale School of Medicine. She chose family medicine for the opportunity it provides to care for individuals across all stages of life and from all walks of life.
Outside the clinic, Stephane is working to build a more socially conscious and sustainable life with her husband and two sons. Her interests include sustainable horticulture, hands-on creative projects — especially ceramics — international service work, and caring for an enthusiastic flock of tiny ducks, who continually remind her of the importance of patience and paying attention to small details.

Rylee Hupp, Patient Care Coordinator
Rylee is the patient care coordinator at Direct Family Care of Northern Colorado and plays a central role in keeping the clinic running smoothly. As the right-hand assistant to the providers, she supports patient care behind the scenes and at the front desk, coordinates communication, and ensures that day-to-day operations move efficiently. Rylee also manages the clinic’s social media presence, helping communicate the heart, culture, and philosophy of the practice beyond the walls of the clinic.
A native of Loveland, Rylee joined Direct Family Care of NoCo in January 2023. With a background as a certified nursing assistant (CNA), she knew she wanted a career in healthcare but was drawn away from traditional roles toward one that allowed for connection, problem-solving, and meaningful patient interaction. She is known for her ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, and get things done — all while making patients feel welcomed and supported.
Since joining the team, Rylee has become nationally certified as a phlebotomist and continues to expand her skill set. She plans to attend esthetician school to further develop her interests in patient care and wellness. Her curiosity, adaptability, and drive make her a key part of the clinic’s growth and patient experience.
Outside the clinic, Rylee enjoys staying active through CycleBar and other workouts, building community with fellow young professionals, running her own business, traveling, reading, and spending summer days by the lake. She takes pride in being a positive ambassador for both herself and the practice and brings energy, professionalism, and warmth to everything she does.

Katie Sanderson, RN
Katie graduated in 2001 with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and brings decades of experience, compassion, and steadiness to Direct Family Care of Northern Colorado. She loves working in a direct care setting because of the meaningful relationships built with patients and the opportunity to provide truly holistic care. Katie values being part of a practice where providers take the time to listen, educate, and advocate deeply for those they serve.
A strong patient advocate, Katie is known for her kind, reassuring presence and her commitment to helping patients feel supported and understood. She works closely with both patients and providers to ensure care is coordinated, thoughtful, and responsive, and she plays an essential role in creating the calm, relational environment that defines the clinic.
Katie lives in Loveland with her husband and two sons. As her family enters a new season — with one son now off to college — she continues to value balance between work and home life. Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, camping, and taking advantage of Colorado’s open spaces.
Katie is a valued and trusted member of our team, and her warmth, experience, and dedication to patient-centered care make a meaningful difference for everyone who walks through our doors.

Todd Lentz, Business Manager
Todd was born and raised in Fort Collins and has deep roots in the Northern Colorado community. He met his wife, Jenn, more than 19 years ago, and after starting their family locally and spending a short time in the Pacific Northwest, they returned to Colorado — first to Loveland and ultimately back to Fort Collins, where they are proud to put down lasting roots.
Although Todd never imagined working in a medical setting years ago, he quickly found that Direct Family Care of Northern Colorado aligned perfectly with his values. He genuinely enjoys meeting new patients, welcoming familiar faces, and serving as a visible ambassador for the practice. Through his active involvement in the Chamber of Commerce and his outgoing, relational nature, Todd has helped introduce many in the community to the direct care model and the mission of the clinic.
Todd takes pride in promoting the practice at every opportunity and believes deeply in the care provided at Direct Family Care. For him, this role is not just a job, but a meaningful path of service — one he embraces without regret.
Todd and Jenn have four children and enjoy spending time together as a family, supporting their kids’ many activities whenever possible. Outside of work, Todd enjoys mountain biking, hiking, camping with family and friends, and keeping up with Wrexham soccer and Formula 1 racing. He is grateful to live, work, and raise a family in Fort Collins and values the strong sense of community that comes with it.
